It\u2019s been a solid rookie campaign thus far for Egor D\u00ebmin<\/a>, and one aspect of his game has proven to be especially outstanding.<\/p>\n

The Brooklyn Nets guard and former BYU star is currently one of the top 3-point shooters in the NBA, making 39.7% of his attempts from behind the arc and ranking within the league\u2019s top 50 for 3-point makes per game (2.5).<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s D\u00ebmin\u2019s consistency from 3-point range that has him on the verge of making history. <\/p>\n

D\u00ebmin has made at least one 3-pointer in 33 consecutive games, tying Rudy Fernandez and Landry Shamet for the longest such streak ever for an NBA rookie. Making a 3 on Thursday in Denver against the Nuggets would put him in sole possession of the record.<\/p>\n

In January alone, the Moscow, Russia, native has connected on multiple triples in 11 of 12 games \u2014 hitting five 3-pointers on three different occasions \u2014 to shoot 46.8% on the month.<\/p>\n

Additionally, D\u00ebmin\u2019s 98 made 3-pointers on the season are the second most makes through a player\u2019s first 40 games in NBA history, trailing only fellow rookie Kon Knueppel of the Charlotte Hornets.<\/p>\n

The success D\u00ebmin has found from 3-point range with Brooklyn is impressive on its own, but it\u2019s especially notable considering he wasn\u2019t much of a sniper at all during his time at BYU.<\/p>\n

Though he did open his Cougars career making 13 of 23 triples, D\u00ebmin connected on just five of his next 43 such shots, finishing the year with a 27.3% shooting mark from 3.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously coming from the last season with 25 percent from the 3 in college to whatever I have right now (has me) feeling very, very confident in that aspect of the game,\u201d D\u00ebmin said, via the New York Post<\/a>. \u201cThat makes me happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, D\u00ebmin was announced to be participating in the NBA Rising Stars event<\/a> during the league\u2019s All-Star festivities next month, making him the first former BYU player to take part in NBA All-Star Weekend since Shawn Bradley appeared in 1994\u2019s Rookie Challenge.<\/p>\n

The No. 8 overall selection in the 2025 NBA draft, D\u00ebmin is averaging 10.4 points with 3.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 40 games thus far with Brooklyn, quickly establishing himself as a pillar for the rebuilding Nets\u2019 future.<\/p>\n

In his lone year at BYU, D\u00ebmin posted averages of 10.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 33 games, earning All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors and helping lead the Cougars to their first Sweet 16 since 2011.<\/p>\n

D\u00ebmin and the Nets will face the Jazz Friday night in Salt Lake City.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
