{"id":575847,"date":"2026-02-01T21:21:53","date_gmt":"2026-02-01T21:21:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/575847\/"},"modified":"2026-02-01T21:21:53","modified_gmt":"2026-02-01T21:21:53","slug":"warriors-trade-offer-for-antetokounmpo-could-include-green","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/575847\/","title":{"rendered":"Warriors&#8217; trade offer for Antetokounmpo could include Green"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nba\/teams\/golden_state_warriors\/87\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Golden State Warriors\u2019\u00a0<\/a>trade offer for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nba\/teams\/milwaukee_bucks\/72\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo could include Draymond Green instead of Jimmy Butler.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7013017\/2026\/02\/01\/giannis-antetokounmpo-mike-dunleavy-warriors-bucks-trade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nick Friedell of The Athletic<\/a> is reporting that the Warriors &#8220;have made it clear to Butler that they are going to stick by him as he begins a year-long rehab.&#8221; Butler is recovering from a torn right ACL.<\/p>\n<p>Warriors would need to part ways with Draymond Green in a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo deal<\/p>\n<p>If Golden State plans to keep Butler, the franchise will have to part ways with Green to acquire Antetokounmpo, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7013017\/2026\/02\/01\/giannis-antetokounmpo-mike-dunleavy-warriors-bucks-trade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Marc Stein and Jake Fischer of The Stein Line<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So what does that mean for lifelong Warrior Draymond Green? It has long been assumed that a credible Golden State offer would have to include Green or Butler for salary-matching purposes,&#8221; Stein and Fischer wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Green has spent his entire career with the Warriors. He has helped the franchise win four NBA championships. Antetokounmpo and Warriors legend Stephen Curry are with the same agency: Octagon. Antetokounmpo is ready to play for a new team, and the Bucks are listening to trade offers for the future Hall of Famer.<\/p>\n<p>The Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks and Warriors are among the serious trade suitors for Antetokounmpo, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/47755088\/sources-giannis-antetokounmpo-ready-bucks-trade-amid-offers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Shams Charania of ESPN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One of the greatest players in NBA history, Antetokounmpo is making $54.1 million this season. He has a player option worth $62.8 million for the 2027-28 season. The swingman doesn\u2019t have a no-trade clause in his contract, so he can\u2019t control where the Bucks trade him.<\/p>\n<p>Milwaukee has lost in the first round of the playoffs three years in a row. Antetokounmpo is tired of losing and is ready to start the next chapter of his career.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple teams are pursuing Antetokounmpo even though the forward is expected to miss the next four to six weeks with a right calf injury. Antetokounmpo has appeared in 30 games this season. He\u2019s averaging 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game.<\/p>\n<p>Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP, one-time Finals MVP, one-time Defensive Player of the Year and 10-time All-Star.
