The New York Knicks have spoiled what might have been LeBron James\u2019s last game at Madison Square Garden, stretching their winning streak to six games with a 112-100 victory against the Los Angeles Lakers.<\/p>\n
OG Anunoby scored 25 points, and reserve Landry Shamet added 23 to lead the Knicks to the win on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Four-time NBA Most Valuable Player James, a 41-year-old Lakers star, remains uncommitted beyond this season, his NBA-record 23rd, but he said playing at the Garden meant \u201ceverything\u201d to him.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s the Mecca of basketball in New York. It\u2019s the Big Apple. Being at MSG, so many guys have walked this court, basketball, entertainment, actors, musicians, everything. It has been a wide range of America, the people, to grace this floor,\u201d James said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hope I\u2019m like a small snippet of somebody that came through here and was able to make a little small dent from a visitor\u2019s perspective. It\u2019s always cool in here. I\u2019ve always loved these fans.\u201d<\/p>\n
While not saying it was his Garden farewell, James noted, \u201cWhen the time comes, it will always have a special place.\u201d<\/p>\n
Josh Hart added 20 points for the Knicks while All-Star guard Jalen Brunson had 12 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve just been playing together,\u201d Brunson said of their win streak. \u201cSticking together, that\u2019s the biggest part, having each other\u2019s back, holding each other accountable.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have to continue to do that. Can\u2019t be satisfied. It\u2019s a collective effort.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Knicks improved to 31-18, second in the Eastern Conference behind Detroit.<\/p>\n
The Lakers fell to 29-19 despite 30 points from Luka Doncic and 22 from James, who was named to his record 22nd NBA All-Star Game as a reserve by NBA coaches.<\/p>\n
\u201cSuper humbling,\u201d James said. \u201cMad respect to the coaches. Playing at the latter stages of my career and still [being] able to be an All-Star, it means a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was the Lakers\u2019 first loss of the season after leading at half time.<\/p>\n
