With the NBA trade deadline<\/a> just a couple of days away, the Atlanta Hawks<\/a>\u2019 search for a big man still has them reportedly interested in Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis<\/a>, as per ClutchPoints\u2019 NBA insider Brett Siegel. Although Davis is currently sidelined due to a hand injury, the Hawks still maintain some level of trade interest.<\/p>\n

Anthony Davis\u2019 hand injury, with a projected return timeline putting him closer towards the end of February, hasn\u2019t quite dissuaded the Hawks from pursuing a trade with the Mavericks by the deadline, only that it\u2019s lowered their offer. The current package it\u2019s believed the Hawks have on the table for Davis is Kristaps Porzingis, Luke Kennard and their own, middle of the draft, first round pick.<\/p>\n

In his limited availability<\/a> for the Mavericks this season, Davis has averaged 20.4 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.7 blocked shots with splits of 50.6 percent shooting from the field, 27 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 72.8 percent shooting from the free-throw line.<\/p>\n

The Hawks pulled off a minor trade<\/a> over the weekend, sending Vit Krejci, who was on a team-friendly contract, to the Portland Trail Blazers for Duop Reath and two second round picks.<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s desire for a big man at the deadline stems from the disappointing season from Porzingis. He\u2019s been limited to only 17 games for the Hawks amid both injury and illness concerns. He\u2019s averaged 17.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 blocked shots with splits of 45.7 percent shooting from the field, 36 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 84 percent shooting from the free-throw line.<\/p>\n

If the Hawks have concerns about Davis\u2019 health, it\u2019s possible they could end up pivoting to another Mavericks big man in Daniel Gafford.
