Rozier won a legal battle over compensation which concluded today. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/story\/_\/id\/47808454\/sources-heat-terry-rozier-wins-salary-dispute-nba\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">As ESPN reports<\/a>, citing sources familiar with the situation, an arbitrator ruled that, \u201cplayers cannot be put on unpaid leave other than in cases of domestic abuse or child abuse\u201d. The article also cites a response from the NBA Player\u2019s Union:<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cWe are pleased with the arbitrator\u2019s ruling and remain committed to ensuring Terry\u2019s due process rights are protected and that he is afforded the presumption of innocence throughout this process,\u201d the National Basketball Players Association said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Rozier is in the final year of his contract.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Rozier was suspended in the aftermath of a wave of federal indictments which included Portland Trail Blazers Head Coach Chauncey Billups. It\u2019s worth noting that the standards (and unions) for player contracts and those of coaches are different. This ruling could, but will not necessarily, portend Billups\u2019 compensation status.
