There were seven games; six were non-con tilts, and the first outright section championship was finally sewed up in the one league matchup. Here’s the roundup, with some notables:

NONLEAGUE

Manheim Central 48, Red Land 21 — The host Barons bolted to a 33-11 lead at the half, on the way to picking up their sixth victory in a row. Gianna Walters (three 3-pointers, 15 points), Maddie Gehman (14 points) and Lilah Walters (10 points) paced Central, which now faces its biggest game to date this season on Tuesday, when the Barons go to Donegal for their Section 3 finale. Central heads into that game tied with Lampeter-Strasburg for second place — and the final L-L playoff bid — and the Pioneers play at Northern Lebanon. If Central and L-S finish tied for second, that spot will be determined by D3-5A power rating, as of Friday at 9 a.m. Central has a nonleague game on Wednesday vs. Daniel Boone; L-S has a nonleague game on Thursday vs. Garden Spot. So this is far from wrapped up. Either way, Central needs a win Tuesday. Stay tuned.

Cocalico 48, Twin Valley 33 — In Elverson, the Eagles zoomed to a 16-7 first-quarter lead on the way to a 29-15 cushion at the half, and then took down the host Raiders for their third victory in a row. Kira Lehman (21 points) and Corrine Fair (three 3-pointers, 15 points) keyed Cocalico, which can play spoiler on Wednesday. The Eagles will welcome co-leader Ephrata in their Section 2 finale. The Mountaineers will need a win to clinch at least a tie for the section title, pending co-leader Warwick’s result vs. Garden Spot, also on Wednesday. Cocalico could potentially ruin Ephrata’s parade with a victory, and you know the Eagles would love that.

Kennard-Dale 49, Garden Spot 35 — In Fawn Grove, the host Rams ripped off an 18-1 second-quarter run for a 28-9 halftime lead, and then fended off the Spartans for the win. Katie Hoffman scored 8 points for Garden Spot, which outscored K-D 26-21 in the second half — but couldn’t get over the hump. The Spartans head to Warwick for that intriguing Section 2 clash on Wednesday, looking to play spoiler.

York 46, Columbia 27 — The host Bearcats pounced early for a 28-10 lead at the half, and went on to drop the Crimson Tide. Lexie Droege scored 10 points for Columbia, which dipped to 1-3 in its last four games. But the good news: The Tide can clinch a tie for the Section 4 championship with Pequea Valley with a victory Wednesday at Lancaster Country Day.

SIGN UP FOR OUR $4 LNP SPORTS PASS

2025-26 L-L LEAGUE GIRLS BASKETBALL STANDINGS, SCHEDULES, STATS

York Country Day 58, Lancaster Country Day 12 — In a battle of Country Day’s, the host Greyhounds sprinted to a 19-0 first-quarter lead, were up 35-3 at the break, and subdued the Cougars. Omeis Noor scored 6 points for Lancaster Country Day.

Carlisle 54, Hempfield 28 — The host Thundering Herd had a 34-13 lead at the break, and then used a 20-7 third-quarter clip to pull away for good and top the Black Knights. Asheion Burgess scored 9 points for Hempfield, which will look to snap an 11-game slide on Tuesday in its Section 1 finale against McCaskey.

Also Monday, Lancaster Catholic locked up the outright Section 3 championship, compliments of a hard-fought win over Elco. If the Falcons fall, and if Manheim Township tops Lebanon, the Blue Streaks would get a co-title, and Township would get the 1-seed in the L-L bracket thanks to the D3-6A power-rating tiebreaker. … As mentioned, L-S and Manheim Central are tied for second in Section 3, and if they both win, the tiebreaker for the L-L playoff nod would be D3-5A power rating as of Friday. And both teams play again later in the week. So don’t engrave anything in stone here. The Section 3 race has been a wild ride; it’s only fitting that it’s going down to the last night — and perhaps a tiebreaker on top of that. … Pequea Valley and Solanco are backyard rivals, and Braves’ coach Jason McDonald — who is four wins shy of 200 — is a former assistant coach at Solanco. … Octorara goes for its third win in a row when Conestoga Christian unpacks the bus in Atglen. … Warwick heads to Boothwyn in Delaware County to square off against Chichester — one night before the Warriors get Garden Spot in their Section 2 finale, with that crown hanging in the balance.

X: @JeffReinhart77

More girls basketball coverage

                Success!
