OKLAHOMA CITY \u2014 Tuesday\u2019s game between the Magic<\/a> and Thunder<\/a> marked the last for Orlando<\/a> before Thursday\u2019s 3 p.m. NBA<\/a> trade deadline.<\/p>\n

With rumors swirling around the league, Jamahl Mosley<\/a>\u2018s squad is aware of what could happen before the team steps on the Kia Center court to take on the Nets hours after the deadline.<\/p>\n

Wendell Carter Jr.<\/a>, who the Magic acquired from Chicago in a March 2021 blockbuster deal, understands what this time of the season feels like for players.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince I\u2019ve been through it before, you try not to think about it as much,\u201d Carter said after shootaround at the former Thunder practice facility in Edmond, Okla., about 20 minutes north of downtown Oklahoma City<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s hard to not. We\u2019re humans. We see the things online and things like that.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut at the end of the day, it\u2019s a business,\u201d he added. \u201cYou\u2019ve got to go out there and produce whether you\u2019re going to be here or you get traded.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another member of the Magic who\u2019s been traded in the past is veteran guard Tyus Jones<\/a>, who was sent from Memphis to Washington in 2023 as part of a three-team trade centered around Kristaps Porzingis.<\/p>\n

Jones could be on the trade block again given his experience in the league and expiring contract. He\u2019s set to become a free agent this summer after he signed a one-year, $7 million deal with Orlando last offseason.<\/p>\n

Moving Jones would also allow the Magic to get below the NBA\u2019s luxury tax line, something the Magic sit roughly $5.6 million above entering the deadline.<\/p>\n

NBA national reporter Marc Stein of the Stein Line recently reported<\/a> Orlando has called several teams to explore the prospect of swapping Jones for some second-round draft capital.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, you\u2019re aware of it,\u201d Jones told the Orlando Sentinel on Tuesday. \u201cYou know something can happen. Anything can happen. But at the same time, stressing or worrying about it too much doesn\u2019t really do you any good.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just try to continue to stick to my routine, focus and get ready to \u2026 go out there out and play, try to help in any way that I can,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

No Magic All-Star<\/p>\n

When the league announced<\/a> the seven East reserves for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game<\/a> earlier this week, Orlando had no names on the list.<\/p>\n

NBA head coaches selected the reserves for the exhibition that\u2019ll take place Feb. 15 in Los Angeles. Each head coach voted for seven players from his conference without regard to position and they were not permitted to vote for players from their own team.<\/p>\n

The East reserves included Toronto\u2019s Scottie Barnes, Detroit\u2019s Jalen Duren, Atlanta\u2019s Jalen Johnson, Cleveland\u2019s Donovan Mitchell, Miami\u2019s Norman Powell, Indiana\u2019s Pascal Siakam and New York\u2019s Karl-Anthony Towns.<\/p>\n

Paolo Banchero<\/a>, Orlando\u2019s last All-Star selection in 2023-24, reacted to the Magic getting left out of the All-Star Game for the second straight season.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing there once already, I definitely want to get back, but I wasn\u2019t selected, nobody was selected,\u201d Banchero told the Sentinel. \u201cSo, I think it just speaks to kind of how we\u2019ve played this year. I don\u2019t know if anybody had a legit case, which isn\u2019t a great thing. We have a lot of talented players on this team, a lot of guys that are capable.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know me, myself, I expect to be there every year, so I\u2019ll be there next year.\u201d<\/p>\n
