He\u2019ll most likely back up LaMelo Ball. Given Ball\u2019s injury history, having a solid backup is a really good idea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Charlotte got some redundancy there, also trading for former Tar Heel Colby White.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">White has had some success in Chicago, but there aren\u2019t many guards anywhere smarter than Jones. For our money, he was Duke\u2019s smartest point guard ever, and Duke\u2019s had some great ones: Tommy Amaker, Bobby Hurley, Jon Scheyer, Quinn Cook and Jones\u2019 brother Tre to name a few.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">It\u2019s hard to know how things will work in Charlotte, but the Hornets have emerged as one of the most fun teams in the league.
