The Golden State Warriors<\/a> made a couple of major moves on Wednesday night, including one that links to the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Draymond Green<\/a> has been the subject of trade rumors<\/a> over the past several days, but the Defensive Player of the Year was not involved in the Warriors\u2019 two trade deals reported on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Golden State reportedly acquired<\/a>Kristaps Porzingis<\/a> from the Atlanta Hawks<\/a> in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga<\/a> and Buddy Hield. The Warriors finally end the Kuminga trade saga, while adding some much-needed frontcourt reinforcement.<\/p>\n

In a separate move, Golden State then traded Trayce Jackson-Davis to the Toronto Raptors<\/a> for a second-round pick.<\/p>\n

Jackson-Davis\u2019 stint with the Warriors ends after two and a half seasons. Selected in the second round of the 2023 NBA<\/a> Draft, the 6-foot-9 big man\u2019s production dipped through the years.<\/p>\n

Jackson-Davis registered career-low numbers this season with 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 11.4 minutes off the bench. The Warriors have now decided to cash in on the 25-year-old, giving him a fresh start in Toronto.<\/p>\n

In exchange for Jackson-Davis, the Warriors receive a 2026 second-round pick from the Raptors. This pick originally belonged to the Lakers and has been moved multiple times, dating back to 2020.<\/p>\n

In November 2020<\/a>, the Lakers traded JaVale McGee to the Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> along with this 2026 second-round pick. In exchange, L.A. received Jordan Bell and Alfonzo McKinnie.<\/p>\n

The Cavs traded the Lakers\u2019 pick to the Miami Heat<\/a> in 2023 in a three-team deal involving the San Antonio Spurs<\/a>. Cleveland acquired Max Strus in exchange for the 2026 second-round pick. The Cavs also sent Cedi Osman, Lamar Stevens and a 2030 second-round pick to the Spurs.<\/p>\n

The Raptors then acquired the Lakers\u2019 pick in February 2025 as part of the Jimmy Butler<\/a> blockbuster trade deal. Toronto was one of five teams involved in the deal, alongside the Warriors, the Heat, the Utah Jazz<\/a> and the Detroit Pistons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Raptors received cash and the 2026 second-round pick from the Heat. Toronto sent Davion Mitchell to Miami as part of the deal.<\/p>\n

The Warriors now own the Lakers\u2019 2026 second-round pick. They can use it as a trade asset for another move before Thursday\u2019s trade deadline. Golden State may also decide to retain the pick and use it in the 2026 NBA Draft. <\/p>\n
