In his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=U0oKgZinyIg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">first appearance for Chicago<\/a>, he finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and two steals.<\/p>\n<p>Knicks Players React To Trade Deadline Deals<\/p>\n<p>Clarkson\u2019s comments on the Yabusele trade were just one of the Knicks\u2019 players\u2019 reactions to their deadline deals, which also included the team adding <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/jose-alvarado\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jose Alvarado<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/nba\/new-orleans-pelicans\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New Orleans Pelicans.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Regarding the French big man, <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/mohamed-diawara\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mohamed Diawara<\/a> wrote \u2018Yeaaaa yabuuuuu!!!!\u2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Modwra\/status\/2019600016122548695\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">in a post on X<\/a> after his standout first game for the Bulls. <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/pacome-dadiet\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pacome Dadiet<\/a>, who was<a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/nba\/new-york-knicks\/yabusele-dadiet-trade-rumors-targets\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> expected<\/a> to be moved along with Yabusele at the deadline, but ended up staying in New York, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NBA_NewYork\/status\/2019559340286566456\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">posted <\/a>a picture on Instagram of the two together.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While Yabusele was under contract with the Knicks for another year, he reworked his deal with the team so he was able to be traded.<\/p>\n<p>Guerschon Yabusele worked with Knicks to amend 2nd year of his contract, removing the player option in order facilitate trade with Chicago, per league sources. Trade gives him opportunity to compete and play this season in CHI and evaluate his options this summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGuerschon Yabusele worked with Knicks to amend 2nd year of his contract, removing the player option in order facilitate trade with Chicago, per league sources,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/IanBegley\/status\/2019521642980872663\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">Ian Begley wrote in a post on X<\/a>. \u201cTrade gives him opportunity to compete and play this season in CHI and evaluate his options this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for Alvarado, <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/josh-hart\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Josh Hart<\/a> was the big name New York player who reacted to the news of the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ShamsCharania\/status\/2019463437336613314\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">Knicks trading Terry again back to New Orleans<\/a>, along with two second-round picks for Alvarado.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJOSEEEEEEE,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/joshhart\/status\/2019463817499914629\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">Hart wrote in a post on X<\/a>, reacting to the news of Alvrado returning to the city in which he grew up.<\/p>\n<p>The point guard himself <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NBA_NewYork\/status\/2019495650107203897\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">posted a picture of him<\/a> with the Pelicans\u2019 staff with the caption \u2018Love Nola\u2018 in response to him being moved.<\/p>\n<p>The Knicks were both rumored to be interested in trading Yabusele and <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/sports\/nba\/new-york-knicks\/alvarado-trade-rumors-injury-updates\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">making a deal for Alvarado<\/a>, so at the deadline, it appears New York got what they wanted to make a playoff push.<\/p>\n<p>Can New-Look Knicks Compete For A Title?<\/p>\n<p>While the Knicks were rumored to be shopping <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/karl-anthony-towns\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a> in a move that likely would have seen them target<a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/giannis-antetokounmpo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Giannis Antetokounmpo<\/a>, that never came to fruition.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, they kept their core of <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/jalen-brunson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jalen Brunson<\/a>, Hart, Towns, <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/mikal-bridges\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mikal Bridges<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/og-anunoby\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">OG Anunoby<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/nba\/player\/mitchell-robinson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mitchell Robinson<\/a> together, while making a few slight changes around the margins to fix some of the issues that became clear after their struggles post-NBA Cup.<\/p>\n<p>But now, the Knicks have their roster set for the rest of the season, and while they still could target <a href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/25390083-post-nba-trade-deadline-2026-buyout-candidates-top-free-agents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">a buyout candidate<\/a> before the playoffs, this is the core that they will compete for their first title in more than 50 years with.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7024917\/2026\/02\/05\/nba-trade-deadline-knicks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external nofollow\">Writing for The Athletic, James L. Edwards<\/a> discussed the chances of this New York squad winning four straight playoff rounds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Knicks, from top to bottom, feel like a well-oiled machine now,\u201d he wrote. \u201cFrom here on out, it\u2019s just about basketball. Players no longer have to worry about potentially uprooting their lives. There\u2019s no more fear about being in an Antetokounmpo trade. Certain guys can now exhale\u2026Many people thought this Knicks team could be special. New York has started to prove those people right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>New York has now won eight games in a row after going 2-9 earlier in January.
