{"id":589003,"date":"2026-02-07T20:36:15","date_gmt":"2026-02-07T20:36:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/589003\/"},"modified":"2026-02-07T20:36:15","modified_gmt":"2026-02-07T20:36:15","slug":"former-msu-star-jase-richardson-to-participate-in-nba-dunk-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/589003\/","title":{"rendered":"Former MSU star Jase Richardson to participate in NBA Dunk Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NBA All-Star Saturday night just got a lot more interesting for Michigan State fans, as former Spartans guard Jase Richardson is set to participate in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest.<\/p>\n<p>The former Spartan is in the midst of his rookie season with the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/basketball\/nba\/teams\/orlando-magic\/19\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Orlando Magic;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Orlando Magic<\/a>, averaging 5.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists on 46.9% from the field in 36 appearances after being selected 25th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Richardson is the final player to accept an invitation to the event, as he&#8217;ll join the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/basketball\/nba\/teams\/san-antonio-spurs\/24\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:San Antonio Spurs;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">San Antonio Spurs<\/a>&#8216; Carter Bryant, <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/basketball\/nba\/teams\/indiana-pacers\/11\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Indiana Pacers;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Indiana Pacers<\/a>&#8216; Jay Huff and <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/basketball\/nba\/teams\/miami-heat\/14\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Miami Heat;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Miami Heat<\/a>&#8216;s Keshad Johnson. The event will take place at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA, on Saturday, Feb. 14.<\/p>\n<p>The Slam Dunk Contest between Richardson, Bryant, Huff and Johnson will feature a two-round format, with each participant attempting two dunks. The combined score of those dunks will determine who advances to the final round, where each finalist will attempt two additional dunks.
