The Dubs signed 29-year-old fan favorite guard Pat Spencer, who was previously on a two-way deal, to an end-of-season contract on Saturday following his commendable 20-point performance against the Phoenix Suns<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The Stein Line\u2019s Jake Fischer believes that a former Los Angeles guard<\/a> could be the next contributor to join the Dubs\u2019 roster this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the Warriors are working to convert two-way guard Pat Spencer to a roster spot, Golden State also has its sights set on adding Lonzo Ball via the buyout market,\u201d Fischer stated on X\/Twitter.<\/p>\n

Ball started the year with Cleveland following a 2025 offseason trade that sent him from the Chicago Bulls<\/a> to the Cavaliers<\/a>. With Darius Garland missing the beginning of the season due to a toe injury, Ball had an opportunity to make his mark with Cleveland instantly.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the UCLA product failed to do so, struggling as a playmaker and perimeter shooter. Ball averaged 4.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game with the Cavaliers this season, shooting 30.1% from the field and 27.2% from three.<\/p>\n

Cleveland traded Ball to the Utah Jazz<\/a> on Thursday, but he was waived by the lowly Western Conference franchise shortly after.<\/p>\n

Could Ball\u2019s positive track record as an on-ball defender and veteran presence be of any assistance to the Warriors this season? Perhaps, but the former lottery pick\u2019s injury history makes him a gamble that the Warriors should be wary of.<\/p>\n
