{"id":591173,"date":"2026-02-08T20:28:14","date_gmt":"2026-02-08T20:28:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/591173\/"},"modified":"2026-02-08T20:28:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-08T20:28:14","slug":"lakers-injury-report-adou-thiero-assigned-to-g-league-for-practice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/591173\/","title":{"rendered":"Lakers Injury Report: Adou Thiero assigned to G League for practice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">It\u2019s been a season of inactivity for Lakers rookie Adou Thiero.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">While most young players may not play as they learn and develop in their rookie season, Thiero has been out for the majority of the year due to injuries, the most recent a right MCL sprain suffered on Dec. 30.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The team stated that he would be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.silverscreenandroll.com\/lakers-injury-report\/103979\/lakers-injury-report-adou-thiero-mcl-sprain-status-update-timeline\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">out for four weeks<\/a> before being re-evaluated. The Lakers delivered some good news on the rookie on Sunday as they assigned him to practice with their G-League affiliate team, the South Bay Lakers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Dave McMenamin of ESPN also reported that he played in his first full-contact stay-ready game earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">This is excellent news for Thiero, who has only played in 15 games this season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Barring any setbacks, he should be made available to play sooner rather than later. The Lakers only have three games left to play before the All-Star break, so perhaps he can be available when LA takes on the Clippers after that break.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Regardless of when he returns, what matters is that he is progressing well. This is a developmental year for Thiero, but it\u2019s hard to develop when you can\u2019t practice or play.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Even in limited availability, Thiero has shown his ability to demolish the rim. He has had an impressive performance in South Bay against the Santa Cruz Warriors, where he scored 12 points in the team\u2019s 108-105 win.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">LA moved up twice in the 2025 NBA Draft to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.silverscreenandroll.com\/2025\/6\/26\/24456778\/lakers-2025-nba-draft-adou-thiero-arkansas-wing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">select Thiero<\/a>, so they clearly value what he brings to the court.
