{"id":591598,"date":"2026-02-09T01:37:01","date_gmt":"2026-02-09T01:37:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/591598\/"},"modified":"2026-02-09T01:37:01","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T01:37:01","slug":"jamal-murray-damian-lillard-in-the-mix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/591598\/","title":{"rendered":"Jamal Murray, Damian Lillard in the mix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nuggets guard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/tag\/jamal-murray\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jamal Murray<\/a> has agreed to compete in the NBA 3-point contest at All-Star weekend next Saturday, the league announced.<\/p>\n<p>Murray will already be at the festivities in Los Angeles, making his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2025\/10\/22\/jamal-murray-nuggets-offseason-jon-wallace\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">first career All-Star appearance<\/a> alongside Nuggets teammate Nikola Jokic.<\/p>\n<p>Five players who were voted into the All-Stars Game are among the eight participants in the 3-point contest. Murray, who\u2019s 43.2% from outside the arc this season, will be up against Devin Booker, Donovan Mitchell, Tyrese Maxey, Norman Powell, Damian Lillard, Kon Knueppel and Bobby Portis. Lillard, who has won the competition twice, was a surprise inclusion. He\u2019s out for the year and rehabbing from a torn Achilles tendon.<\/p>\n<p>Murray said last week he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/2026\/02\/02\/jamal-murray-all-star-game-reaction-2026-nikola-jokic-nuggets\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">wants to play hard in the events<\/a> despite the overwhelming trend being that players have stopped taking All-Star weekend seriously.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just want to be one of those guys that\u2019s known as somebody who\u2019s gonna play hard every time he steps on the court,\u201d Murray said. \u201cAnd not just half-(expletive) it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.denverpost.com\/dp\/preference\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Want more Nuggets news?
