The Timberwolves got blown out 115-96 by the Clippers tonight, making it their second straight loss. Donte DiVencenzo kept it straightforward postgame saying, \u201cI think the energy right now feels like we lost five in a row,\u201d claiming they\u2019re \u201cbad losses\u201d.<\/p>\n
The offense stagnated to quite an extent tonight with the Wolves registering merely 17 assists. LAC on the other hand had themselves 25 assists.<\/p>\n
Of course, the name of the game is \u2018making shots\u2019 and the Wolves simply didn\u2019t make all too many tonight. They shot 8-33 from beyond the arc whereas the Clippers rained down a fiery array of 3-pointers at a 51.9% clip.<\/p>\n
Ant<\/a> after the game blamed the offense<\/a> for the 19-point loss. He was however, quite forgiving on the rest of the Wolves\u2019 aspects regarding tonight\u2019s game.<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, for everybody. I feel like we had good energy today. I feel like the offense just wasn\u2019t going for us. Especially myself. Chris Finch was quite vocal about the Wolves\u2019 offensive deficiencies.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve lost our structure on offense. Our early actions, our early pass-pass,\u201d said<\/a> Finch, blaming their \u201closs of pace\u201d as well.<\/p>\n Interestingly enough, the Timberwolves are top 7 in the league in passes made at 300.9. So, them having an offense that is more isolation-heavy does feel a bit out of character for the squad. Then again, they do generate 10.2 points per game through pure isos.<\/p>\n The problem certainly stems from a lack of connectivity between set plays and the players executing them.
