{"id":593785,"date":"2026-02-10T02:55:29","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T02:55:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/593785\/"},"modified":"2026-02-10T02:55:29","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T02:55:29","slug":"ex-warriors-big-trayce-jackson-davis-reflects-on-raptors-debut-nbc-sports-bay-area-california-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/593785\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-Warriors big Trayce Jackson-Davis reflects on Raptors debut \u2013 NBC Sports Bay Area &#038; California"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s\u00a0a new era for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jackstr02.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Trayce Jackson-Davis<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In his first game with the Raptors after being\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsportsbayarea.com\/nba\/golden-state-warriors\/source-trayce-jackson-davis-trade\/1913226\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">traded from the Warriors<\/a>, Jackson-Davis made an impact for Toronto in its\u00a0122-104 win over the Indiana Pacers\u00a0on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In just 16 minutes played, the 25-year-old center notched a double-double with\u00a010 points and 10 rebounds.\u00a0He also recorded one steal and one block.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He was quick to give props to his new teammates for having his back in his Raptors debut.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s a really, really good crew in there,\u201d Jackson-Davis told reporters after the game.\u00a0\u201cYou could see during the game they were\u00a0hyping\u00a0me up\u00a0every time I made a play, giving me a lot of confidence. So,\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0happy to be here,\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0happy to be a part of the team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the assistant coaches came up to me and said, \u2018At the end of the day, it&#8217;s just basketball; just go out there and play,\u2019\u00a0and\u00a0so\u00a0that\u2019s what I did.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Eight of Jackson-Davis&#8217;\u00a0rebounds were on the offensive side. The Raptors finished the game with 15 more second-chance points than the Pacers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan always have a knack for rebounds, whether it be offense or defense. Just crash the glass; that was a big thing\u00a0at halftime,\u201d Jackson-Davis noted.\u00a0\u201c[Raptors coach\u00a0Darko\u00a0Rajakovi\u0107] said\u00a0that\u00a0we\u00a0were minus-one or two on the glass, so just getting in there and trying to make an impact any way I can, and\u00a0that\u2019s what I did.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jackson-Davis had a fluctuating role this season for\u00a0Steve Kerr and\u00a0the Warriors.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0unclear if that will change in Toronto, but an injury to Raptors center\u00a0Collin Murray-Boyles\u00a0opened up\u00a0minutes for Jackson-Davis on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0a blessing, honestly. Going from a team like Golden State, a winning organization, and coming here to another winning organization is great,\u201d Jackson-Davis said. \u201cI\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0complain,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a\u00a0really good\u00a0crew\u00a0here&#8230;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201c&#8230;I\u2019m\u00a0just happy\u00a0to be here, happy to get to work.
