Russell Westbrook achieved another career milestone on Monday. <\/p>\n

The Sacramento Kings guard scored his 27,000th career point in a matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, becoming just the 14th player to reach that mark. Westbrook ranks just behind Elvin Hayes, who is 13th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. <\/p>\n

Westbrook has been a consistently solid scorer throughout his career, putting up 21 points per game across 18 seasons, so he’s managed to make his way up the all-time scoring list.<\/p>\n

The former MVP is also seventh on the all-time assists list, so he’s one of just three players to sit inside the top 15 all-time in both points and assists, the other two being LeBron James and James Harden.<\/p>\n

Westbrook, of course, also leads the NBA in all-time triple-doubles by a pretty wide margin, though Denver Nuggets star Nikola Joki\u0107 is gaining some ground on him. Whether Joki\u0107 passes him or not, Westbrook will always be associated with being the modern-era Mr. Triple-Double.<\/p>\n

Westbrook, who spent last season with the Nuggets, had a lengthy free agency over the offseason after declining his player option with Denver. As the season approached, it seemed as if he wouldn’t find a team by opening day, but he ended up\u00a0signing<\/a>\u00a0with the Kings in October.<\/p>\n

The nine-time All-Star has been solid in Sacramento, putting up 15.3 points, 6.7 assists and 5.8 boards per game, though it hasn’t been enough to help the Kings, who are sitting in last place in the Western Conference at 12-42.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Russell Westbrook achieved another career milestone on Monday.
