The Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> are returning home following a 135-118 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers<\/a> on Monday with a 3-2 West Coast swing. The Sixers had a poor third quarter as the Blazers outscored them 49-22 to put the game away and Philadelphia, a short-handed bunch, was unable to get it back together after that big run by the Blazers.<\/p>\n When considering everything, the trade deadline, a weird travel schedule, and not having Joel Embiid for two of those games, a 3-2 record is very good for this group. One can make the case the Sixers should have went 4-1 as they did see one slip away to the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> in the third game of the trip, but any time a team can go over .500 on a West Coast trip, it’s a win.<\/p>\n “I would say, how many games is that, five?” coach Nick Nurse told reporters after the loss to the Blazers. “Four and a half really good games. I think there\u2019s a half tonight or a quarter here tonight that\u2019s really bad. One quarter in LA, but most of it was really good basketball. Not bad.”<\/p>\n To Nurse’s point, the Sixers played well the entire trip. They knocked off the red hot Los Angeles Clippers to start the trip, went to The Bay and defeated the Golden State Warriors on the second night of a back-to-back, and defeated a tough Phoenix Suns<\/a> team. The losses to the Lakers and Blazers will stand out to some, but Nurse and Co. have to like the trip.<\/p>\n Philadelphia is currently sitting at 30-23 and the No. 6 seed in the East. The Sixers sit 1.5 games back of the Toronto Raptors<\/a> for the No. 5 seed with one final game before the All-Star break on Wednesday when they host the New York Knicks<\/a>.<\/p>\n
