The NBA suspended the 24-year-old for seven games following the four-player altercation during the Pistons and Charlotte Hornets\u2019 game<\/a> on Monday, Feb. 9.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n \u201cThe length of Stewart\u2019s suspension is based in part on his repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts,\u201d the NBA\u2019s Wednesday, Feb. 11, announcement<\/a> read.<\/p>\n Stewart’s Pistons teammate Jalen Duren was suspended for two games, and Hornets players Miles Bridges<\/a> and Moussa Diabat\u00e9 were suspended for four games, the NBA said.<\/p>\n The suspensions will begin effective immediately. Neither Pistons player will be attending the team’s scheduled Feb. 11 game against the Toronto Raptors. He was then face-to-face with Diabat\u00e9, causing them to butt heads. Things quickly intensified after Duren shoved Diabat\u00e9 in the face.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Diabat\u00e9 then punched Duren, who then began walking away before Bridges punched him in the face. Duren then punched Diabat\u00e9 back. Diabat\u00e9 later tried to go after Duren, but was held back.<\/p>\n Then, Stewart, who was on a bench, went over to Bridges, who then punched Stewart. In response, Stewart attempted to punch Bridges, but missed. He ultimately put Bridges in a headlock and then punched him in the head several times. All players involved were ejected from the game.<\/p>\n Hornets coach Charles Lee then argued the call, but was ejected during the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n \u201cIt is what it is. He previously had altercations with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James<\/a>, several Minnesota Timberwolves players<\/a> and the Phoenix Suns\u2019 Drew Eubanks<\/a>.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n In February 2024, Stewart faced criminal charges that stemmed from an pregame altercation involving Eubanks. While the charges were ultimately dropped, Stewart was suspended by the NBA.<\/p>\n An assault charge was originally filed against Stewart for punching Eubanks in the face during an altercation in the parking lot of the Suns\u2019 Footprint Arena in downtown Phoenix.
