PHILADELPHIA — – Jose Alvarado<\/a> scored a season-high 26 points and Mikal Bridges<\/a> added 22 points as the New York Knicks<\/a> beat the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> 138-89 Wednesday night.<\/p>\n

The Knicks bounced back from an overtime home lost to the Indiana Pacers<\/a> on Tuesday night for their 10th win in 12 games. Two of those victories have come against the Sixers. The teams split their four-game season series.<\/p>\n

Alvarado, acquired last week from New Orleans, shot 8 for 13 from 3-point range and finished with five steals.<\/p>\n

Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a> had 21 points and 11 rebounds. Mohamed Diawara<\/a> scored 14 points. Jalen Brunson<\/a>, who scored 40 points against the Pacers, scored eight on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Tyrese Maxey<\/a> led the way with 32 points in three quarters for the 76ers, who played without center Joel Embiid<\/a>, who sat due to right knee soreness. VJ Edgecombe<\/a> added 14 points, and Dominick Barlow<\/a> scored 13.<\/p>\n

The 76ers, who lost their second straight and for the third time in four games, were held to a season-low point total, just their third game under 100 points this season.<\/p>\n

The Knicks jumped out to a 16-4 lead thanks to nine points from Bridges. They led by 30 at the half. The Knicks shot 58% from the field in the first half, paced by 19 points from Bridges and 16 from Towns. They finished with a season-high 41 assists.<\/p>\n

Embiid missed his second straight game. He hadn’t missed consecutive games since Dec. 19-20. Quentin Grimes<\/a> missed a second straight game due to illness.<\/p>\n

OG Anunoby<\/a> missed this fourth straight game for the Knicks with a right toenail avulsion.<\/p>\n
