Last week, Klay Thompson celebrated his 36th birthday — a reminder, perhaps, that his iconic NBA career is entering its final phase.<\/p>\n
Thompson is under contract through next year with the Dallas Mavericks<\/a>, but his fit in the heart of Texas has come into question as the Mavericks enter a rebuild around Cooper Flagg. Final status for Mavericks star<\/a><\/p>\n But while Thompson’s NBA future may be in some doubt, the four-time champion and Golden State Warriors<\/a> legend received contract news of a different sort on Friday.<\/p>\n Thompson has signed a “lifetime deal” with the Chinese sportswear brand Anta, which has a longstanding relationship<\/a> with the five-time All-Star.<\/p>\n The “legacy deal” extends beyond Thompson’s playing career, which may well end in the next calendar year.
