\t\t\t \n\t\t\tVancouver Canucks star Dakota Joshua revealed he\u2019s been diagnosed with testicular cancer. \u201cThis summer, I felt a lump on one of my testicles that doctors would later diagnose as testicular cancer,\u201d Joshua wrote in a statement released by the Canucks on Tuesday, September 17. \u201cThis news was obviously scary to hear, but thankfully, doctors were [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n Topic received his cancer diagnosis shortly after playing in the Thunder\u2019s first preseason game of the 2025-26 season. He underwent a round of chemotherapy<\/a> and returned to training in January.<\/p>\n \u201c[Topic] didn\u2019t want to make this information public until he had begun the actual treatments, which he has,\u201d the Thunder\u2019s general manager Sam Presti said in October 2025 as Topic began chemo. \u201cHe\u2019s been in here, he\u2019s training, he\u2019s working out through this entire process. As we all know, this would be a challenging treatment process to go through.\u201d<\/p>\n The Thunder announced in early October 2025 that Topic would miss four to six weeks to start this season after a \u201ctesticular procedure,\u201d but they did not provide further details.<\/p>\n Presti, 47, revealed in his statement that the procedure was necessary to determine whether he had testicular cancer, while a biopsy confirmed his diagnosis. He also said that doctors were \u201cextremely positive\u201d about his prognosis.<\/p>\n \u201cOur only expectations for him are to focus on this,\u201d Presti continued. \u201cThis is his most important priority. He\u2019ll be back playing basketball when he\u2019s able to, but we\u2019re not putting any time length or expectations on that, obviously. He has our total support, encouragement and love. He has a tremendous group of oncologists both at OU, at MD Anderson, and they are extremely positive about his outlook in dealing with this situation.\u201d<\/p>\n Presti concluded, \u201c[Topic] is a really remarkable, remarkable guy. I think everybody knows that, that\u2019s been around him. Extraordinarily mature, composed, resilient.
