Point guard Anfernee Simons landed with the Chicago Bulls from the Boston Celtics at the recent NBA trade deadline, and on Thursday night he faced his former team for the first time in his new uniform.<\/p>\n

The Bulls fell 124\u2013105, and Simons turned in a relatively quiet performance, finishing with seven points and five rebounds in 28 minutes.<\/p>\n

Before the game, Simons was asked whether he would consider a potential return to Boston down the line.\u00a0<\/p>\n

To the surprise of many, he acknowledged that it remains a real possibility, emphasizing how much he enjoyed his time with the Celtics and the strong relationships he built during his stint there.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbsolutely. Obviously, we\u2019ve got to finish the season here first, and then we\u2019ll see what happens,\u201d Simons said via CLNS Media.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike I said, I enjoyed my time here and built some great relationships. So yeah, it\u2019s definitely an option.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simons, who was traded to the Celtics last summer from the Portland Trail Blazers, is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.<\/p>\n

In 49 games with Boston this season, Simons averaged 14.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.\u00a0<\/p>\n
