Giannis Antetokounmpo doubled down on his current commitment to the Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> during a media session at All-Star Weekend.<\/p>\n

There was serious speculation that Antetokounmpo would be traded by the Bucks prior to the NBA trade deadline earlier this month. But, the deadline came and went, and Antetokounmpo is still a member of the Bucks. So, for now, he remains committed to the only organization he has been a part of.<\/p>\n

“As of today, I’m committed to the Milwaukee Bucks,” Antetokounmpo said, via ESPN<\/a>. “I’m committed to the people that I work with, my teammates, the coaching staff, Coach Doc [Rivers] and [GM] Jon [Horst] in the front office.<\/p>\n

“What I’ve said from the beginning of this year is that, out of my mouth and the way I’ve carried myself, you will never hear me say I don’t want to be a Milwaukee Buck.”<\/p>\n

Antetokounmpo clearly doesn\u2019t want to be viewed as the bad guy in Milwaukee by publicly asking for or demanding a trade, which is understandable. However, recent reporting about his desire to find a new home hasn\u2019t matched his public comments.<\/p>\n

Thus, the speculation regarding his future didn\u2019t die at the trade deadline, it was merely deferred until after the season. When the 2025-26 season comes to an end for the Bucks, Antetokounmpo\u2019s future will likely become a major talking point once again. The former NBA MVP has two years remaining on his current contract, including a player option for the 2027-28 season.<\/p>\n

Antetokounmpo was selected as an All-Star for the 10th consecutive season this year. However, he will miss the annual exhibition<\/a> due to a lingering calf strain that has kept him sidelined since late January. It remains to be seen when he’ll return to game action for the Bucks after the break.<\/p>\n
