Although Trey Murphy was an asset that many believed would be better suited with the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a>, the Golden State Warriors<\/a> could definitely use his services.<\/p>\n

A long, well-rounded wing who continues to evolve is also welcomed in the Warriors\u2019 organization. Murphy won\u2019t compete with Golden State this season, but there\u2019s a chance he could join the Dubs<\/a> during the summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter inquiring multiple times before the deadline, the Lakers and Warriors plan to once again pursue Trey Murphy III as a top trade target this summer,\u201d Forbes\u2019 Evan Sidery reported Friday.<\/p>\n

The Warriors will have plenty of options in the offseason. Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> phenom Giannis Antetokounmpo will be at the top of the franchise\u2019s preferred targets, and Los Angeles Clippers<\/a> star Kawhi Leonard has emerged as another high-level trade option for the Dubs.<\/p>\n

If the Dubs discover they don\u2019t like their chances of acquiring either asset, Murphy will be on the table for the seven-time NBA champions. The Virginia product\u2019s play has made the New Orleans Pelicans<\/a> have second thoughts about moving on from him.<\/p>\n

Whether succeeding in catch-and-shoot situations, gliding to the rim while utilizing minimal dribbles, or making a noticeable impact on the defensive end, Murphy showcases his two-way skill set nightly.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old is averaging 22.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game this season, shooting 47.6% from the field and 37.8% from beyond the arc.<\/p>\n

Without Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to offer the Pelicans, the Warriors must entice New Orleans with other assets if they want to potentially land Murphy this summer.<\/p>\n
