{"id":608499,"date":"2026-02-17T18:53:38","date_gmt":"2026-02-17T18:53:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/608499\/"},"modified":"2026-02-17T18:53:38","modified_gmt":"2026-02-17T18:53:38","slug":"conley-back-with-timberwolves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/608499\/","title":{"rendered":"Conley back with Timberwolves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mike Conley is officially back with the Timberwolves, agreeing to a rest-of-season deal with the team he was traded from just two weeks ago, a source confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The 38-year-old guard will be on the floor when Minnesota resumes post all-star break practice on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>After Minnesota \u201csent\u201d Conley to Chicago in a three-team deal days ahead of the trade deadline to shed salary, Conley was then re-routed to Charlotte, who ultimately waived the veteran guard.<\/p>\n<p>Because there was a second stop between Minnesota and waivers, the Timberwolves were eligible to re-sign the veteran guard this season.<\/p>\n<p>Conley could\u2019ve signed anywhere, but with his family settled in the metro, his strong ties to his teammates and a team in title contention, he opted to return to the Wolves. There was an understanding Conley would re-join Minnesota shortly after he was waived, but the reunion was delayed for salary cap reasons until after the all-star break.<\/p>\n<p>The Wolves had to add a 14th player by Tuesday to be compliant with NBA roster regulations. Conley was the obvious addition.<\/p>\n<p>Conley\u2019s role with the Wolves remains to be seen after Minnesota acquired Ayo Dosunmu at the deadline.
