Paul George was served a 25-game suspension at the end of January, leaving the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> with a large gap to fill in the lineup.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia has been used to not having George since he signed with the team before the 2024-25 season. George has missed exactly half of the games the 76ers have played since adding the 35-year-old.<\/p>\n

Philadelphia may look to find someone to replace the expensive veteran in the meantime, and one candidate for the job could be the Dallas Mavericks<\/a>‘ Khris Middleton if he is bought out, Bryan Toporek of SI.com suggested<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Khris Middleton, 34, was traded from the Washington Wizards to the Dallas Mavericks<\/a> in the days leading up to the NBA trade deadline.<\/p>\n

The Mavs are a team that’s flirting with being in tanking territory.<\/p>\n

Middleton isn’t the same All-Star-level player he was earlier in his career, but he could be added as a veteran piece that would upgrade Philadelphia’s wing depth.<\/p>\n

Without Paul George, the 76ers are relying on Kelly Oubre Jr. and Justin Edwards to fill in the role.<\/p>\n

Of course, roster cuts would have to take place after the 76ers signed Jabari Walker and Cameron Payne to NBA deals<\/a>. However, Middleton is a possible candidate to improve the roster.<\/p>\n

Adding Middleton, who’s averaging 10.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game while shooting 42.7 percent from the field with the Wizards<\/a> and Mavericks this season, could be a temporary option for the 76ers moving forward.<\/p>\n

This would be able to happen only if the Mavericks want to move on from Middleton before the NBA’s buyout deadline on March 1.<\/p>\n
