After a disappointing end<\/a> to his time in San Antonio, Jeremy Sochan<\/a> is eager for a fresh start to his NBA career with the Knicks, writes Robert Sanchez of SNY.tv<\/a>. With his hair dyed blue and orange in honor of his new team, Sochan talked to reporters on Wednesday about what he can contribute.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can do a little bit of everything, so whatever coach wants me to do, you know, whatever gets me on the court, I\u2019m gonna do it and I\u2019m gonna do it 100 percent,\u201d he said. \u201c\u2026 At the end of the day, I wanna be Jeremy. I wanna be myself. \u2026 I bring versatility, defense, energy, a little bit of tenacity, so I can\u2019t wait.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sochan had plenty of options, with 10 teams reportedly<\/a> expressing interest in signing him after he cleared waivers, but he said New York was \u201calways at the top\u201d of his preference list. He added that he had \u201crefreshing conversations\u201d with people throughout the organization and said it feels \u201cvery natural\u201d now that he\u2019s able to start practicing with the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just seizing whatever opportunity I get,\u201d Sochan said. \u201cAnd I think one of the reasons why I picked New York is it\u2019s a very deep roster, a lot of really talented players and I think it\u2019s a pretty cool opportunity just watching and to grow from that too. I still think I\u2019m young, so just being around players that have established themselves and have done a lot of stuff in this league, I think is a crazy opportunity for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

It appears Sochan\u2019s minutes will come at the expense of rookie forward Mohamed Diawara<\/a>, per Stefan Bondy of The New York Post<\/a>. The Knicks want to get a long look at Sochan to see how he affects the team heading into the playoffs and determine if he\u2019s a good fit to bring back next season. \u201c[Sochan] knows the league. The league knows him. He knows the officials and vice versa. So he\u2019s going to get an opportunity,\u201d coach Mike Brown said. \u201cBut at the end of the day, I\u2019m going to play who I think is best for us. Right now Jeremy is new. He hasn\u2019t played for us. So I have to see rather quickly what we have in him before going to the playoffs.\u201d
\nOG Anunoby<\/a> is officially listed as questionable for Thursday\u2019s game with Detroit due to a toenail avulsion, but he and Brown both said he\u2019ll be able to play, Bondy tweets<\/a>. After missing the past four games, Anunoby was able to practice on Wednesday. He had the nail removed, according to James L. Edwards of The Athletic (Twitter link<\/a>). \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of pain,\u201d Anunoby said. \u201cIt\u2019s an open wound.\u201d\u00a0
\nIn an interview with Tom Kludt of Vanity Fair<\/a>, Jalen Brunson<\/a> references the discount he gave the Knicks on his last contract and states that he hopes to make up for it next time around. \u201cObviously we\u2019d love for them to do right by me,\u201d Brunson said. \u201cI think anyone would.
