The team announced Thursday that Dodgers Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Lon Rosen will step in as President of Business Operations.<\/p>\n<p>Lakers Take Bold Step Toward Dodger-Like Front Office<br \/>\nAbout Lon Rosen<\/p>\n<p>Rosen, who joined the Dodgers as an executive in 2012, guided the Dodgers to significant financial success over the past decade, according to the <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/mcten\/status\/2024568345421389849\">Lakers\u2019 press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder Rosen\u2019s leadership, the Dodgers have increased revenue every year and have led Major League Baseball in attendance since 2013, while winning three World Series titles. He brings a deep knowledge of the Los Angeles sports market as well as a personal familiarity with both the Lakers organization and the priorities of the Mark Walter-led TWG.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018For many years, I have seen the impact that Lon has had in our industry. Over that time, I have learned that not only is Lon a great person, but he also has a deep understanding of both sports and entertainment and a true feel for where this business is headed,\u2019 said Lakers Governor Jeanie Buss.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rosen returns to familiar territory despite his new title. He <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/02\/19\/dodgers-exec-rosen-returns-to-roots-as-lakers-president-of-business-operations\/\" target=\"_blank\">interned for the Lakers<\/a> while studying at USC and worked as the team\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/02\/19\/dodgers-exec-rosen-returns-to-roots-as-lakers-president-of-business-operations\/\" target=\"_blank\">Director of Promotions<\/a> from 1980-87. He also served as <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/johnsma02.html\" target=\"_blank\">Magic Johnson<\/a>\u2019s former agent and longtime business partner.<\/p>\n<p>In thanking Buss and owner Mark Walter for the \u201cincredible opportunity,\u201d Rosen added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs everyone knows, the economics of the sports business are constantly changing \u2013 and they will continue to do so. But, at root, my job is a simple one: figuring out how to do right by our employees and our partners while ensuring that the Lakers continue to provide an unparalleled experience for our fans in Los Angeles and around the world.
