Haywood Highsmith was once one of the most underrated players on the Miami Heat<\/a> roster. He was superb in his role as a high-energy forward, but it seems the Heat<\/a> were okay with parting ways before the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n

Now, Highsmith has signed with the Phoenix Suns<\/a> despite his injury. It is still unknown whether he can return this season, but recent progress suggests he could help the Suns<\/a> if he does.<\/p>\n

Highsmith wants to get healthy as soon as possible<\/p>\n

Highsmith has a high ceiling when it comes to contributing to the Suns. The team is filled with energetic players, but Highsmith has all the physical tools to play alongside the Suns’ core trio of Devin Booker, Jalen Green, and Dillon Brooks.<\/p>\n

Of course, the setbacks with his meniscus recovery have been an issue. However, he looks prepared to keep fighting for his spot when he does make his debut for his new team.<\/p>\n

Any player coming off knee surgery will always be wary of what they are doing. Thankfully, Highsmith is not at all discouraged with his process to come back healthier than ever, as he will keep working.<\/p>\n

“I’m here to play basketball at the end of the day. That’s what I want to do. So we’ll figure out when that happens and go from there. I’m going to continue to put the work in and control what I can control and just go from there,” Highsmith said to the Suns’ media members about his recovery<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moving forward, the Suns have continued to prove that they are one of the most impressive teams of the season. Phoenix is ready to keep competing for a spot in the Playoffs, and Highsmith could be a big piece for them.<\/p>\n
