Collins had 12 points in 16 minutes, and Lue said postgame that Collins was still being evaluated.

Foul Baiting Frustrates Both Sides

Lue was not shy about sharing his frustrations with the officiating, pointing directly at the Lakers for what he felt was constant foul baiting.

“When you’re foul baiting the whole game, we run into it every night, it’s tough,” Lue told reporters after the game.

“These guys are already great players, and so it’s just tough to stop them at that point.”

Bennedict Mathurin seemed to echo everyone else’s frustration on the loss against the Lakers:

“It’s hard. Trying to play hard and the game kinda stops on one side of the court, one side more than the other.” pic.twitter.com/n8vTVED9zI

— Farbod Esnaashari (@Farbod_E) February 21, 2026

Doncic went 8-of-11 from the line and Reaves was a perfect 7-for-7, with the Lakers shooting 20-of-25 as a team.

The Clippers were no strangers to the stripe either, going 24-of-29 from the charity line.

Mathurin, who was attacking the basket all night, shot 11-of-14 from the line before his sixth foul ended his evening.

Clippers Nearly Force Overtime

The Lakers blew a 15-point second-half lead, and the Clippers fought all the way back.

With the Lakers holding a three-point lead in the closing seconds, Nicolas Batum stole LeBron’s inbounds pass and got an open look from three to tie it, but the shot rimmed out as time expired.

Lue walked away from the loss pointing to the fight his group showed on a back-to-back against a fully loaded opponent.

“You saw it.
