The Golden State Warriors<\/a> will look to stop a two-game losing steak when they host the Denver Nuggets<\/a> for some afternoon basketball on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the Warriors will continue to be without their best player for the game against Denver.<\/p>\n

Steph Curry ruled out vs. Nuggets due to nagging knee injury<\/p>\n

Star guard Steph Curry has been ruled out<\/a> of the game due to a nagging knee injury that has been classified as right patellofemoral pain syndrome, also known as “runner’s knee,\u201d which is an injury defined by pain and swelling around the kneecap area.<\/p>\n

It will be the seventh consecutive game missed by Curry due to the issue, which also\u00a0held him out of the All-Star game<\/a>\u00a0last weekend, despite being selected as a starter.<\/p>\n

Curry’s return isn’t imminent, either. He recently underwent an MRI, which came back clean<\/a>, but he is still experiencing persistent pain and swelling. He’s expected to be re-evaluated near the end of the month, and he’ll remain sidelined until then.<\/p>\n

On the season, Curry has appeared in 39 games for the Warriors and he’s averaging 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per performance.<\/p>\n

The meeting between Golden State and Denver will be the third of the season between the two teams. The Warriors won the first meeting in October and the Nuggets returned the favor in November. The teams will also meet again one more time in March.<\/p>\n
