A matchup between the Miami Heat<\/a> and Memphis Grizzlies<\/a> was nearing an end Feb. 21 but not before some late-game fireworks.<\/p>\n

Grizzlies guard Scotty Pippen Jr. and Heat guard Myron Gardner were ejected with 1:55 left in the fourth quarter after a scuffle that carried over into the corner near the 3-point line.<\/p>\n

Pippen was forcefully hit in the back by Gardner after making a 3-pointer with 1:59 left in the fourth, but no foul was called. After lying on the floor and then complaining to the officials, Pippen rushed up the floor and charged toward Gardner.<\/p>\n

The players fell and had to be separated by teammates and staff.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was kind of a cheap shot,\u201d Pippen said. \u201cHe kind of hit me from where I didn\u2019t see him, so I thought it was a soft move. I just thought maybe he needed a hug on the other end.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both players were ejected from the game following the incident.<\/p>\n

The Heat went on to close out the 136-120 win at Kaseya Center. Pippen finished with 18 points and six assists. Gardner had five points and three rebounds.<\/p>\n
