The Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> earned a much-needed 135-108 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> to end a 4-game losing skid. The win keeps them ahead of the hard-charging Miami Heat<\/a> for the No. 6 seed in the East and out of the play-in while also setting up a potential winning road trip when they take on the lowly Indiana Pacers<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Tyrese Maxey had 39 points and eight assists to lead the way for Philadelphia while VJ Edgecombe had 24 points and seven rebounds. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 18 points and five rebounds, Quentin Grimes had 19 points and seven assists, and Adem Bona added eight points and five rebounds while Dominick Barlow added eight points, three rebounds, and three assists.<\/p>\n

The starting backcourt of the Sixers was fantastic on Sunday. Both Edgecombe and Maxey set the tone early and often as they were able to create offense for themselves and for others. Whether it was Maxey being able to get to his spots and finish with ease or it was Edgecombe knocking down tough 3s, the Sixers leaned on those two in an effort to get back in the win column. There were so many good moments for both guards. It was impressive to see against a Timberwolves team that has been to the Western Conference finals in each of the previous two seasons.<\/p>\n

Grimes makes plays with his passing\"Feb<\/p>\n

The Sixers have been urging Grimes to be much more aggressive in terms of his scoring as that aspect of his game opens things up for everybody else on the floor. After knocking down a couple of 3s in the early going, Grimes put the ball on the floor and found Bona plenty of times on the baseline for dunks and he was running the pick-and-roll from the perimeter in an effort to get others involved. He was an offensive engine for Philadelphia all night long in terms of scoring and playmaking as he did it all in Minneapolis.<\/p>\n

Barlow continues to make an impact\"Feb<\/p>\n

His stats weren\u2019t flashy, but Dominick Barlow gave the Sixers some good play on Sunday. He was terrific on the defensive end as he bothered Minnesota\u2019s big men and he created a lot of extra possessions by being active on the glass and being able to force turnovers. On the offensive end, he took advantage of running out and being able to beat the Wolves down the court. He found open spots on the floor and took advantage of his opportunities.<\/p>\n
