As the Cleveland Cavaliers\u2019 seven-game winning streak was snapped<\/a> at the hands of the undermanned Oklahoma City Thunder, 121-113, star Donovan Mitchell shared his extensive thoughts on the defeat. While the Cavs are not pushing the panic button<\/a> after a deflating loss like Sunday night, Mitchell would point out the way the Thunder fouls.<\/p>\n

With Cleveland not making excuses when they lose and controlling what they ultimately can, Mitchell would be asked about Oklahoma City fouling that goes uncalled. Mitchell would speak about it and how it\u2019s \u201cbeen a season and a half, two seasons\u201d<\/a> of that, according to video from HoodiGarland on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, yeah, they foul,\u201d Mitchell said. \u201cLike, there\u2019s no secret to that, they foul. But, you know, at the end of the day, it\u2019s been a season and a half, two seasons. What are we gonna do? Keep saying the same thing, but they\u2019re not calling it, so. Yeah, they foul, but they\u2019re not calling it, so it\u2019s not a foul, you know what I\u2019m saying?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s frustrating, and you just can\u2019t let it get in your skin,\u201d Mitchell continued. \u201cWhich I think, like I said, we figured out for ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the Cavs looking to be title contenders<\/a>, there\u2019s no denying that losing to the reigning champions without stars Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams is frustrating. Still, there are certain areas that Cleveland needs to work on, such as their defensive rebounding, which head coach Kenny Atkinson called their \u201cAchilles heel,\u201d as Mitchell speaks on the \u201cconsistent theme,\u201d<\/a> according to ClutchPoints\u2019 Cavs reporter Spencer Davies.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think just the rebounding we\u2019ve got to work on,\u201d Mitchell said after recording 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. \u201cThat\u2019s been a consistent theme. We\u2019ve got to rebound and give ourselves chances to get out and get there. Once we got back [from the deficit], we were just giving them extra opportunities. Some guys made shots, credit to them, they don\u2019t necessarily always make shots. But also, it\u2019s easier to make threes when you don\u2019t get the rebound.\u201d<\/p>\n
