But for Edwards himself, the most expensive public sale of one of his cards came as a surprise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know. Probably like $100,000,\u201d the Minnesota Timberwolves guard guessed when asked as he drew a crowd at Triple Diamond Sports Cards in Minneapolis on Saturday as part of a Topps Hobby Rip Night event.<\/p>\n<p>Guess higher.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c$200,000.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A little warmer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c500,000!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Close!<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Anthony Edwards  was STUNNED at the price of his most expensive card\ud83d\udcb0\ud83e\udd2f <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomebody bought that?!\u201d \ud83e\udd23 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/HEKIM1pYzE\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/HEKIM1pYzE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Topps (@Topps) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Topps\/status\/2025965360998994178?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">February 23, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Edwards\u2019 most expensive publicly known card sale \u2014 a 2020-21 Flawless NBA Logoman patch autographed one-of-one rookie card made by Topps rival Panini \u2014 was for $426,000 in an auction via Goldin in June 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomeone bought that?\u201d a stunned Edwards said. \u201cI appreciate it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coincidentally, Edwards\u2019 second-highest public card sale (via Card Ladder, an online trading card sales database) occurred the night before Edwards\u2019 appearance. That card was a non-autographed one-of-one 2020-21 Panini Flawless NBA Logoman patch card that sold for $252,000 in an auction through Fanatics Premier.<\/p>\n<p>More than 800 hobby shops across the U.S. and 19 other countries participated in the Rip Night festivities, featuring special giveaways and notable appearances. In Arizona, avid collector and three-time American League MVP Mike Trout was also put to the test.<\/p>\n<p>At DNA Cards and Collectibles in Phoenix, Trout was asked which card he would rather have in his collection: the 2024 Topps Chrome Update Paul Skenes MLB Debut Patch autographed card (that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6216741\/2025\/03\/21\/paul-skenes-debut-patch-auction-sale\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sold for $1.1 million<\/a> early last year) or the 2025 Topps Chrome Shohei Ohtani MVP Gold Logoman patch autographed card (that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6899367\/2025\/12\/19\/shohei-ohtani-record-card-sale-dodgers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sold for $3 million<\/a> in December).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOof! I love Skenes, big fan of Skenes. But I\u2019ve got to go with Shohei,\u201d Trout predictably said, given the years he spent alongside Ohtani with the Los Angeles Angels.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere on Rip Night, Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg bought $7,000 worth of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebay.com\/sch\/i.html?_nkw=Kon+Knueppel+Topps+2025&amp;_sacat=0&amp;_from=R40&amp;_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1313&amp;mkcid=1&amp;mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&amp;siteid=0&amp;campid=5339067567&amp;customid=konrookies&amp;toolid=10001&amp;mkevt=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">rookie cards<\/a> of his former Duke teammate and current Charlotte Hornets\u2019 standout Kon Knueppel at a shop in Indianapolis, Star Wars superfan and New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/topps\/status\/2025365621471391791?s=46&amp;t=feIhalbShftKxR-_hJFhkg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">pulled a 1-of-1 R2D2 sketch card<\/a> at a shop in New York, and Kansas City Royals star Jac Caglianone treated fans to $5,000 worth of <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Topps\/status\/2025699857848054059?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">free baseball card packs<\/a>.
