{"id":622802,"date":"2026-02-24T22:25:35","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T22:25:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/622802\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T22:25:35","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T22:25:35","slug":"former-uconn-star-donovan-clingan-engaged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/622802\/","title":{"rendered":"Former UConn star Donovan Clingan engaged"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bristol native, NBA starter and two-time <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courant.com\/tag\/uconn-mens-basketball\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">UConn men\u2019s basketball<\/a> national champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/5105565\/donovan-clingan\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Donovan Clingan<\/a> will soon have another title.<\/p>\n<p>Husband.<\/p>\n<p>Clingan and fiancee Madeleine Ross announced their engagement on Instagram in a post on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cForever love,\u201d the post read, with photos of the couple\u2019s engagement on a scenic beach, where Clingan dropped to one knee and proposed.<\/p>\n<p>Former UConn teammates Hassan Diarra, Andrew Hurley and Liam McNeeley were among those who commented on the post.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe even creased his kicks,\u201d McNeeley wrote. \u201cThat\u2019s real love. Congrats!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trail Blazers teammate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nba\/player\/_\/id\/4683021\/deni-avdija\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Deni Avdija<\/a>, who was an All-Star for the first time this year, also reacted with a meme of a woman crying with joy.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been a good year for Clingan on the court as well, as the 22-year-old is averaging 11.9 points and 11.5 rebounds per game while shooting 53.4 percent from the field.
