The Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> handled business on Tuesday night as they knocked off the lowly Indiana Pacers by a score of 135-114.<\/a> The Sixers were able to take advantage of a struggling Pacers team and leaned on their stars to get the job done on the road and finish 2-1 on this 3-game trip.<\/p>\n

Joel Embiid had 27 points, six rebounds, and five assists in his return to the floor after missing five games. Tyrese Maxey had 32 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists, VJ Edgecombe had 23 points and seven rebounds, and Quentin Grimes added 15 points. Kelly Oubre Jr. contributed 12 points for the Sixers as well.<\/p>\n

Here are the three biggest takeaways from the win over the Pacers:<\/p>\n

Embiid dominates\"Feb<\/p>\n

The big fella looked pretty good for somebody who hadn\u2019t played in 17 days. He was efficient, made quick work of Indiana\u2019s big men, scored at a variety of levels in a variety of ways, and altered many Pacers shot attempts. He looked like he had been working hard and been in a rhythm while working off the floor as the hard work paid off for the 2023 MVP winner. Now, granted, it was just the Pacers, but Embiid getting into rhythm in this instance was a big development for Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

This is the second straight game where Edgecombe has found a rhythm from beyond the arc. He knocked down six triples on seven attempts in Sunday\u2019s win over the Minnesota Timberwolves<\/a> and he shot 2-for-4 from deep and 9-for-13 overall on Tuesday against the Pacers. The 3-point shot is then able to open up other parts of his game as Edgecombe attacked Indiana\u2019s perimeter defenders and got to the basket rather easily. As long as he continues to find a groove from beyond the arc, it will open up other parts of his game.<\/p>\n

Maxey does it all\"Feb<\/p>\n

Not only was Maxey scoring at a high level, but he was also aggressive on the glass and made plays for others leading to a robust stat line. Again, one can make the case that it is just the Pacers, but the All-Star guard has now been able to find an explosiveness on the offensive end in two straight games following the frustrations of the 4-game losing streak.
