Recently, the New York Knicks shook things up<\/a> by adding Jeremy Sochan<\/a> over the All-Star break after he parted ways with the San Antonio Spurs. To say that Sochan’s start to his<\/a> Knicks tenure has gone rough would be an understatement, recently finding himself benched in the second half of New York’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

However, Sochan is keeping a positive attitude<\/a> as he adjusts to his new home.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a process. It\u2019s my fourth game here,\u201d Sochan said, per Stefan Bondy of the New York Post. \u201cSo we\u2019ll figure it out. We\u2019ll be good.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my first time adjusting to a different dynamic,\u201d he added. \u201cSo it\u2019s going to take some time to figure out and, of course, I haven\u2019t been in a lot of game shape. So altogether there are going to [be] ups and downs. But I\u2019m blessed and excited to be in this situation. And I truly believe I can add to this team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sochan became known as a versatile defender and opportunistic offensive player during his time with the Spurs, but ultimately found himself mostly out of the rotation in San Antonio this year.<\/p>\n

The Knicks could certainly use another athletic defender, considering that many point to the team’s best two players, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson, being clear negatives on that end of the floor as a reason not to take New York seriously as championship contenders.<\/p>\n

Still, in order to carve out a consistent spot for himself in Mike Brown’s rotation, Sochan will have to be able to provide more on offense than he has so far during his Knicks tenure.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s just learning how everyone wants to play. The vibe on the team and all those sorts of things,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
