The Dallas Mavericks<\/a> secured a 123-114 road victory over the Brooklyn Nets<\/a> on Tuesday night at Barclays Center, but the win came with injury developments involving two veteran forwards.<\/p>\n

Khris Middleton<\/a> and P.J. Washington<\/a> both exited the contest after sustaining separate injuries during game action. Further evaluation is ongoing.<\/p>\n

Khris Middleton Ruled Out With Right Shoulder Stinger<\/p>\n

Middleton was ruled out prior to the start of the second half after experiencing a right shoulder stinger.<\/p>\n

The injury occurred in the second quarter when Middleton made contact with Nets center Nic Claxton<\/a> while competing for position. Middleton briefly remained on the floor before walking to the bench for evaluation. He returned to close out the first half but did not re-enter after halftime.<\/p>\n

Middleton finished with six points, five rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 15 minutes.<\/p>\n

In five games with Dallas this season, Middleton is averaging 14.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 23.0 minutes per game while shooting 49.0% from the field, 35.3% from three-point range, and 88.9% from the free-throw line. His ability to function as a secondary playmaker and efficient floor spacer has provided balance within the Mavericks\u2019 starting unit.<\/p>\n

P.J. Washington Exits Late With Left Ankle Injury<\/p>\n

Washington sustained a left ankle injury late in the fourth quarter while attempting to catch a pass in the paint. He appeared to roll his ankle upon landing and exited the court immediately, proceeding directly to the locker room for further evaluation.<\/p>\n

Washington finished the game with 13 points, four rebounds, and two assists.<\/p>\n

Through 42 games this season, Washington is averaging 14.3 points and a team-leading 7.1 rebounds in 31.0 minutes per game. He is shooting 44.8% from the field, 30.6% from three-point range, and 67.4% from the free-throw line. Washington also ranks among the team leaders in defensive impact, averaging 1.0 steals and 1.3 blocks per contest.<\/p>\n

The timing of both injuries is significant given the Mavericks\u2019 current roster landscape. Kyrie Irving<\/a> and Dereck Lively II<\/a> remain out for the season, while Cooper Flagg<\/a> did not play Tuesday due to a left midfoot sprain.<\/p>\n
