Despite missing a string of key rotation players, the Golden State Warriors secured an impressive win over the Memphis Grizzlies<\/a> on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Eight of Steve Kerr’s nine-man rotation finished the game in double-digit scoring; only Malevy Leons fell short, ending the night with nine points.<\/p>\n The Warriors played a breakneck pace throughout the night, forcing the Grizzlies to play at a tempo that appeared to be outside their comfort zone. During his post-game news conference,<\/a> Moses Moody emphasized the importance of the team’s pace and how it led to such a well-balanced offensive performance.<\/p>\n “We found a rhythm, found a flow,” Moody said, via Sam Gordon. “Last night was a little stagnant, but we calmed down and made shots. We made a lot more shots today…(Playing with pace) gives more opportunity for the defense to make mistakes… So everybody’s not set and ready to rotate for another guy when action happens. Just getting the ball out, playing fast, and then even when you’re on half court, moving and playing fast.”<\/p>\n Wednesday’s win ensured the Warriors split the short-lived road trip that saw them face the New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies on a back-to-back. Furthermore, it was a reminder of the strength in depth the Warriors have at their disposal.<\/p>\n Nevertheless, Golden State will undoubtedly be hoping to get some of its veteran contributors back in the rotation in the near future. And, of course, the eventual return of Stephen Curry will be welcomed. Until then, it would appear there’s enough talent on the roster to keep the franchise treading water.<\/p>\n Need a news break?
