On Friday evening, the Brooklyn Nets<\/a> will play the Boston Celtics<\/a> in Massachusetts.<\/p>\n

The Nets are coming off a 126-110 loss to the San Antonio Spurs<\/a> on Thursday in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

Before Friday\u2019s game, the Nets announced<\/a> that they had signed a new player.<\/p>\n

Nelson played five seasons of college basketball for North Dakota State and Alabama.<\/p>\n

His averages<\/a> were 11.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 blocks per contest while shooting 50.7% from the field and 28.7% from three-point range in 160 games.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Nelson helped lead Alabama to the Final Four.<\/p>\n

As for the Nets, they come into Friday\u2019s showdown with Boston as the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 15-43 record in 58 games.<\/p>\n

They are in the middle of a six-game losing streak (and have won two out of their last ten).<\/p>\n

Following the Celtics, the Nets will play their next game on Sunday when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Nets last made the NBA playoffs during the 2023 season.<\/p>\n
