The Sacramento Kings provided an update on Keegan Murray\u2019s latest injury Friday as they prepared to face the Los Angeles Lakers in the final game of a five-game road trip Sunday at Crypto.com Arena.<\/p>\n
The Kings said Murray underwent an MRI after reinjuring his left ankle in Wednesday\u2019s game against the Houston Rockets. The results showed that Murray suffered a mild ankle sprain, but he avoided another serious injury after missing 38 of 61 games so far this season.<\/p>\n

The Kings (14-47) have ruled Murray out for Sunday\u2019s game against the Lakers (34-24). He will be reevaluated in two weeks. Based on that timeline, Murray could be ready to return in mid-March.<\/p>\n
Murray left Wednesday\u2019s game after rolling the ankle with 3:23 to play in the first quarter at Toyota Center in Houston. He limped off the floor and headed to the locker room for treatment from the team\u2019s medical staff. The Kings later announced that Murray would not return.<\/p>\n
The Kings selected Murray, 25, out of Iowa with the No. 4 pick in the 2022 NBA draft. He appeared in 80, 77 and 76 games in his first three seasons, but his fourth season has been plagued by injuries. He has only appeared in 23 games, averaging 14.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 steals.<\/p>\n

Murray missed the first 15 games of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb.
