The Golden State Warriors<\/a> will be seeking a second straight win when the host the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Lakers will be looking to avoid a four-game losing streak against a Golden State team that will be missing its\u2019 best player \u2013 again.<\/p>\n

Steph Curry ruled out vs. Lakers due to lingering knee injury<\/p>\n

Star guard Steph Curry has been ruled out of the game<\/a> against the Lakers due to the same nagging knee injury that has kept him sidelined for the entire month of February.<\/p>\n

The injury has been labeled as right patellofemoral pain syndrome, which is also commonly known as “runner’s knee\u00a0\u2013 an injury defined by pain and swelling around the kneecap area.<\/p>\n

It will be the 10th consecutive game missed by Curry due to the injury.\u00a0His last game action came back on Jan. 30 against the Detroit Pistons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the season, Curry has appeared in 39 games for the Warriors and he’s averaging 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per performance.<\/p>\n

Curry’s absence against L.A. is obviously a bummer for fans who were hoping to see a showdown between two all-time greats in Curry and Lakers forward LeBron James. After all, we don’t know how many more of those we’ll get at this point.<\/p>\n

The Warriors and Lakers are also scheduled to meet again in April, so hopefully both Curry and James will be available for that one. There’s also a chance that the two teams could meet in the postseason.<\/p>\n

Entering the matchup on Saturday night, the Warriors are eighth in the standings in the Western Conference, while the Lakers are in the sixth spot.<\/p>\n
