Mo\u2019 injuries, mo\u2019 problems for the Kings.<\/p>\n
Sacramento announced on Friday that Keegan Murray<\/a> suffered a \u201cmild left ankle sprain\u201d in Wednesday\u2019s blowout loss<\/a> against the Houston Rockets and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.<\/p>\n The 25-year-old exited the matchup in the first quarter and was ruled out for the remainder of the game shortly after.<\/p>\n Murray, who has missed 38 of the Kings\u2019 61 contests this season, sprained the same ankle in January and missed 20 games before returning last week.<\/p>\n With the current timetable, Murray is set to miss at least six games as the Kings hit the final stretch of the season.<\/p>\n Murray, who had missed just a total of 13 games in his first three seasons, has dealt with an array of injuries, from a UCL tear in his thumb to a calf injury and finally the ankle injury that has now struck twice.<\/p>\n The four-year NBA vet, who signed a five-year, $140 million rookie contract extension<\/a> in October, has averaged 14.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists this season while playing 34.5 minutes per game.<\/p>\n However, since breaking the NBA\u2019s rookie 3-pointers made record three seasons ago<\/a> — a record that was broken on Thursday by Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel — Murray has yet to find the same kind of success with his shot. This season, he\u2019s shooting just 42.0 percent from the field and just 27.7 percent from beyond the arc \u2013 both career lows.<\/p>\n The 14-47 Kings currently have the NBA’s worst record and are on pace to win 19 games on the season, which would be their second-worst record in franchise history \u2013 the 2008-09 Kings won just 17 games and finished with the worst record in the NBA that season.<\/p>\n
