Warriors coach Steve Kerr on Saturday walked back recent comments he made about new big man Kristaps Porzi\u0146\u0123is<\/a>‘ health, expressing regret during his press conference before Golden State’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers.<\/p>\n

“It was a stupid mistake by me to talk about something that I’m not qualified to talk about, so I regret it,” Kerr told reporters at Chase Center. “Even trying to discuss the diagnosis, that was my mistake and I need to leave that to the professionals.”<\/p>\n

Steve Kerr called it a \u201cstupid mistake\u201d for him to speak on Kristaps Porzingis\u2019 health status on the radio last night. Porzingis remains out tonight for a fourth straight game with an illness.<\/p>\n

During an interview with 95.7 The Game on Friday, Kerr told “Willard and Dibs” that Atlanta Hawks general manager Onsi Saleh informed him Porzi\u0146\u0123is does not have POTS, or postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, and labeled the publicized diagnosis as “misinformation.”<\/p>\n

Steve Kerr told @WillardAndDibs<\/a> that Kristaps Porzingis doesn’t actually suffer from POTS:<\/p>\n

“After the trade…I called Onsi Saleh, Atlanta’s GM, and I asked, ‘Is this POTS story real?’<\/p>\n

Porzi\u0146\u0123is will miss his fourth consecutive game Saturday<\/a> with an illness. Kerr wasn’t able to provide any further information about what has sidelined the veteran center since his Warriors debut<\/a> on Feb. 19, when he scored 12 points in 17 minutes in a loss to the Boston Celtics.<\/p>\n

“I can’t really say anything … it’s a medical issue way beyond my capabilities of explaining anything,” Kerr said. “So yeah, he’s sick, he won’t play and we’ll keep monitoring him.”<\/p>\n

Golden State acquired Porzi\u0146\u0123is, who has played in just 18 games<\/a> during the 2025-26 NBA season, at the Feb. 5 trade deadline after sending Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to the Hawks.<\/p>\n

As Dub Nation awaits the new acquisition’s return to the court, the Warriors certainly hope he’s better soon as they push for an NBA playoff spot.<\/p>\n
