Victor Wembanyama<\/a> and the San Antonio Spurs<\/a> saw their 11-game winning streak end at the hands of the New York Knicks<\/a>, largely due to a huge performance from Mikal Bridges on both ends of the floor.<\/p>\n

Bridges scored 25 points, his third-highest total this season. He also added five rebounds, two assists and five steals.<\/p>\n

It was a collective effort for the Knicks, as all five starters scored in double digits. Jalen Brunson<\/a> recorded 24 points and seven assists, while Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a> added a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double.<\/p>\n

The Spurs were paced by Wembanyama, who had 25 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks. He also committed seven turnovers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was surprised, yeah,\u201d he said post-game when asked about the Knicks’ physicality<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels like they\u2019re a good basketball team, they are good actual basketball players. They\u2019re not the nastiest, ugly team, you know? They\u2019re not an ugly team to watch, but they made our game ugly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although he was surprised, the two-time All-Star remained calm. He believes there is a positive takeaway <\/a>despite the blowout loss.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s good for us to see this kind of adversity,\u201d he continued. \u201cWe want to play the best teams. This is a top playoff team. They know what it\u2019s like. They gave us a good showing today.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Spurs remain the second-best team in the Western Conference, 2.5 games behind the No. 1 Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a>. There is also a clear separation between them and the No. 3 Houston Rockets<\/a>, who trail by 5.5 games.<\/p>\n
