The 30-year-old big man, who was a part of the Boston Celtics&#8217; 2024 NBA championship squad, has been dealing with an illness that Warriors coach Steve Kerr called &#8220;mysterious&#8221; on Monday when asked if he had any clarity on the situation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Not really,&#8221; Kerr told reporters before the Warriors&#8217; game against the Los Angeles Clippers at Chase Center. &#8220;It&#8217;s a little mysterious. We&#8217;re obviously working with him and hoping that he can get some clarity, and he can break through and get to a point where he&#8217;s consistently healthy. That&#8217;s something that the medical staff is working hard on with him. I&#8217;m not going to even posit any medical theories anymore.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt\u2019s a little mysterious. Obviously, we\u2019re working with him and hoping that he can get some clarity and he can break through and get to a point where he\u2019s consistently healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Steve Kerr on Kristaps Porzingis <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KP5oXkEzOu\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/KP5oXkEzOu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 95.7 The Game (@957thegame) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/957thegame\/status\/2028647111533928594?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">March 3, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The latter part of Kerr&#8217;s quote stems from an answer he gave over the weekend on 95.7 The Game, awhen the coach shared Hawks general manager Onsi Saleh told him Porzi\u0146\u0123is doesn&#8217;t have postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) and labeled the public diagnosis as &#8220;misinformation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kerr did walk back his answer earlier this week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsportsbayarea.com\/nba\/golden-state-warriors\/steve-kerr-kristaps-porzingis-illness-mistake-pots\/1920681\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">saying he made a &#8220;stupid mistake<\/a>&#8221; by discussing a subject matter he wasn&#8217;t qualified to discuss.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a stupid mistake by me to talk about something that I&#8217;m not qualified to talk about, so I regret it,&#8221; Kerr said to reporters. &#8220;Even trying to discuss the diagnosis, that was my mistake and I need to leave that to the professionals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Porzi\u0146\u0123is was ruled out for Monday&#8217;s Warriors-Clippers game &#8212; his fifth consecutive absence with the illness since making his Golden State debut against the Boston Celtics on Feb. 19.
