Another prominent NBA big man has come out against the Atlanta Hawks<\/a>‘ “Magic<\/a> City Night” promotional event, set to take place March 16.<\/p>\n

The Hawks will host the rival Orlando Magic that night in a game that is quickly becoming enveloped by controversy. Since the Hawks last week announced a promotional tie-in to the city of Atlanta’s Magic City strip club, NBA veterans Luke Kornet and Al Horford — a former All-Star in Atlanta — have voiced their opposition to the event.<\/p>\n

A day after Kornet wrote a Medium post decrying “Magic City Night” as disrespectful to women and to the NBA’s image, Horford — now playing for the Golden State Warriors<\/a> — sent an X post in which he wrote “well said, Luke” in response to Kornet’s letter.<\/p>\n

Horford, now in his 19th NBA season, played the first nine years of his career in Atlanta after the Hawks drafted him third overall in the 2007 NBA Draft.<\/p>\n

Given his familiarity with the city and its culture, for Horford to take a strong stance against “Magic City Night” may prompt the Hawks to rethink things over the next couple weeks.<\/p>\n
