INDIANAPOLIS — Pacers<\/a> All-Star forward Pascal Siakam<\/a> said his sprained left wrist is improving, though neither he nor Pacers coach Rick Carlisle made it clear when he might return to the lineup with the Pacers about to head out on a four-game West Coast road trip.<\/p>\n

Siakam sprained the wrist late in the Pacers’ Feb. 22 game against the Mavericks at the end of a 30-point performance. Carlisle said Siakam sprained it when he ran into Mavericks wing Khris Middleton and was called for a charge.<\/p>\n

“It’s OK,” Siakam said. “It hurts. I think the way I play, falling a lot, it’s not great. It hurts, but I’m taping it, trying to be out there. The biggest thing is knowing I fall a lot on my wrist. So just keep on monitoring it with the medical staff and see where we’re at.”<\/p>\n

Siakam played 51 games out of the Pacers 55 before the All-Star break but has played just once in the Pacers’ last seven games with six coming since the break. Siakam earned his fourth All-Star nod this season and is averaging 23.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, but the Pacers are in last place in the Eastern Conference at 15-46 and losing helps their cause to get a top four pick in the NBA draft. As a condition of their trade to acquire center Ivica Zubac from the Clippers, they get to keep this year’s pick if it lands in the top four or between 10-30 but lose it if it falls in the 5-9 range.<\/p>\n
